Leah Williamson signs new contract to extend long-term stay

Leah Williamson signed a new contract with Arsenal Women on Thursday 30 April, committing her future to the Women’s Super League side and extending her career with the club.

The 29-year-old England captain, who joined Arsenal as a child, will stay in north London for at least the next stage of her career, with reports suggesting the deal will run until around 2028.

Williamson’s new deal ends uncertainty over her future, with her previous contract expiring at the end of this season. Negotiations between players and clubs had been ongoing for months before the extension was finalized.

Leah Williamson’s one-club career continues

Williamson has been at Arsenal for more than two decades, progressing through the academy before making her first-team debut in 2014.

Since then, she has become one of the most important figures on the team, both on and off the field.

Her leadership qualities have been crucial to Arsenal’s recent successes, which include a 2025 Women’s Champions League victory over Barcelona.

She also won domestic honors with the club, including league and cup titles, and remains a key figure in the dressing room.

The defender, who can also play in midfield, is widely regarded as an identity symbol for Arsenal, having grown up entirely within the club’s system.

Injury-plagued season, but will play key role in future

Williamson’s current campaign has been disrupted by injury. After Euro 2025, she missed the first half of the season due to knee surgery, which limited her number of appearances upon her return.

Despite the setback, Arsenal have shown continued faith in their captain, underscoring her importance to the team.

The club sees her as a central figure in its defensive structure and long-term planning.

Her return to fitness in recent months has provided Arsenal with a timely boost as they compete for more trophies in multiple competitions.

Commitment to club and country

Williamson remains a key player for the England women’s national football team, which she captains at international level.

She has led the Lions to significant success in recent years, including two consecutive European Cups in 2022 and 2025.

By signing a new contract, Williamson has reaffirmed her commitment to club and country, choosing to remain at Arsenal despite interest and speculation surrounding her future.

For Arsenal, securing their captain’s long-term future is an important statement. It ensures stability within the squad and places one of women’s football’s most influential players at the heart of its project.

Williamson’s presence provides experience and leadership as the club looks ahead to the next few seasons – qualities that remain vital as Arsenal aim to compete at the highest level domestically and in Europe.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
