Are you “fashionable” and “modern”?
“I don’t like trends!” I said at a recent event that my clients don’t want to dress up the latest trends, they like outfits that feel modern and modern, and you can see the relief on her face.
What’s the difference between “fashionable” and “modern”?
As the saying goes, “If you are not moving forward, you are moving backward” is perfect for your style. If you haven’t updated your wardrobe for a while, then you and your outfit will look outdated.
On the other hand, you don’t have to jump on every new trend that comes out. Mesh shoes, for example, in my case, or make no sense! They’re all over Instagram and on the streets, but they’ll never work for my lifestyle or toes!
The key is to find work that suits your personal style, characters and lifestyle. They are likely to trend, but they don’t matter as long as the right time for you.
To illustrate my point, let’s take a look at the huge trend this season – the skirt. If you’re still wearing a Boho Maxi in the 90s, you won’t be up to date. However, if it doesn’t work for you, you don’t have to jump on the trend of metallic silver long tail (according to Vogue).
A great way to make sure you don’t buy trends, and rarely ask yourself three questions when you feel the urge to buy: –
- Does it fit my body?
- Where do I wear it?
- What would I wear?
If you can’t actively answer these questions, put your clothes back on the track.
My job is to find modern works that suit my clients’ personal style today, but also withstood the test of time. The long tail of metal is not for everyone, but there are trends around skirts, such as cotton “A” lines that are more wearable and timeless.
I like this style because it is very easy to wear versatile outfits, making most characters more likable. It will keep you cool in hot weather and always look smart. This dress style is always a useful and stylish wardrobe option, whether in trending or not – I’ve been choosing the wardrobe in this photo for a few years.
