We have competed in 2 junior competitions over the past two weeks. This period is a busy time for the Malaysia Junior Championships, and there are many tournaments happening, sometimes at the same time! Junior Championships are still alive. Let’s discuss it.
Over the weekend, we competed in the Haier Cup Junior 2025 Championship. It’s a junior tournament where there are no restrictions on participants. Even junior state players or junior national players can participate. We saw players from Denmark, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. There may be more in other countries, but we haven’t encountered them in person.
The game is very intense as there are many top players in the country. We see many familiar faces that they face in other competitions or encounter children playing live in local tournaments.
I will write an article on the 2025 Haier Cup Teenagers on the website. I realized how difficult it is to get information from the junior championship. I had to curate information from many sources in order to get as many tournaments as possible. I will summarize this information on the website here:
Championship information is time-sensitive and there is always a registered data line. When promoting the competition, there is usually a 3-week window before registration is closed. This makes tracking of the game extremely difficult.
Some of the larger tournaments sponsored by major brands have an advantage here because they have a larger marketing budget that can be spent on social media and traditional media. But even then, the window to decide to play in the competition is small and requires quick response.
More popular matches can be booked in 2 hours! I went through this while trying to book the Daikin International Badminton Championships. This is a complete book in 2 hours and the website crashes! We were unable to access the site from two hours after registration was opened.
On Tuesday, July 22, we participated in the MSSD Championship at Michael’s Badminton Academy. More details about the competition on this page:

A few months ago we participated in the Allianz Youth Badminton Championships in Taiping. The Allianz Championship is arguably the largest non-government youth championship in Malaysia as it spans 6 to 7 months and covers 10 locations in many states in Malaysia. More details about this match on this page:

There are some smaller tournaments that are not open either. The challenge is to understand these games. More details on this page:
Facebook will help because there are dedicated Facebook groups in Malaysia’s badminton games. But Facebook is an imperfect tool because it’s like a blog and older posts are pushed down. Some parties can flood other parties by posting other parties more frequently.
So I’m considering inviting parties who want to have a web page to host a contest to connect with me. I will be happy to host their tournament page on the website. I’m considering having a format similar to the pages I’ve created for Allianz Junior Badminton Championship and MSSM.
Some games rely on posters on badminton court run by badminton academy. Others rely on word of mouth. All of this is not very efficient and they try to attract enough players.
For those looking to gain experience, it is important to track multiple channels. I do go to badminton courts on the internet as well as through Facebook groups. There are many to choose from!
That’s it.
Until the next entry, Eat well, get enough rest and keep badminton moving forwardWoolen cloth
