Bruno Fernandes’ form remains solid for Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes’ form continues to help United, but they have now failed to win another game at home. In Manchester United’s Premier League match against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Monday, December 15, the Red Devils drew 4-4.

United currently sit sixth in the Premier League table with 26 points from 16 games, which doesn’t look too bad, but it could have been much better.

However, it goes without saying that without Bruno Fernandes’ performance, United would be in a much worse position.

The Portugal international continued his fine form with a superb free-kick against Bournemouth. His goal tied the score at 3-3, but then both sides scored a goal to bring the game to a thrilling end.

Bruno Fernandes status

So far this season, Fernandez has scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists for the team. This makes him one of the most efficient players in the Premier League.

The 31-year-old has now played 307 games for the Red Devils, scoring 103 goals, and is about to spend six years at the club.

Fernandes didn’t play alongside the club’s past greats like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. Nonetheless, Fernandes’ numbers compare favorably to those of the club’s legendary midfielders mentioned above.

The Manchester United captain has not had much success in winning trophies since arriving at Old Trafford. Still, all things considered, the FA Cup and League Cup wouldn’t be a bad return for him.

Fernandes remains one of the most creative midfielders in the Premier League. He has the ability to find his teammates and deliver perfect crosses into the opposition penalty area. He can also play a delightful pass and remains one of the best exponents of free-kicks.

Manchester United will suffer if Fernandes leaves next year

The Middle Eastern club has made an offer for the Portuguese maestro. However, Fernandes still has at least a few years left in the top flight. So if he leaves the club next year, it should be a turnaround for them, at least in terms of performances on the pitch.

His contract with Manchester United expires in 2027, which means if he persists, United may have to let him go for free. It would not be financially feasible for the club to let one of their biggest stars leave for free.

Bruno Fernandes’ form has also limited United’s ability to consider his potential exit. There is no doubt that he is the team’s talisman and even after making over 300 appearances for the club, he remains their best player.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the Portuguese can help his side stay in the top six of the Premier League at the end of the season. Missing out on European football won’t do Ruben Amorim’s cause any favors in terms of staying on as a head coach. Amorim hopes his compatriots will continue to help him.
